Distribution Network Reconfiguration Using Iterative Branch Exchange and Clustering Technique

The distribution network reconfiguration problem (DNRP) refers to the challenge of searching for a given power configuration with better operating conditions, such as minimized energy losses and improved voltage levels. To accomplish that, this paper revisits branch exchange heuristics presents method in which it is coupled other techniques evolutionary metaheuristics cluster analysis. methodology applied four benchmark networks, 33-, 70-, 84-, 136-bus results are compared those available literature, using criteria number flow executions. systems starting from initial network. main contributions work use clustering reduce search space DNRP; consideration regulation banks voltage-dependent loads feeder, requiring addition constraint mono-objective model guarantee transferred load will be supplied at best magnitude level, application real networks solve set 81 DNRPs CEMIG-D (the Energy Company Minas Gerais). Four out presented case studies demonstrate applicability approach, efficiently found configurations lower few PF runs.
